Was at Dollar Tree this morning and noticed a bin full of DE safety razors each carded with a 5-pack of blades. Brand is "Assured" same a bunch of other products including OTC meds. Did not purchase. Package says handle is stainless. OK. The razor heads (TTO) look ultra-cheap. Some purchasers report the safety bars are not aligned properly. But if you want to give this product a try they are likely in your local Dollar Tree. |

I’ll keep using my Merkur 33c and Personna Israeli Reds  I don’t know if I already said thanks, but thanks for the killer soap recommendations. I am loving Sudsy Soapery! Stirling Soap is also very good, but Sudsy is a noticeable improvement. |

| I bought one of them. I grew up learning to shave with my Dads safety razor. His could adjust the cut level and could be set pretty fine since if you shaved every day, you don't really need an aggressive height. The dollar store razor doesn't adjust and is made pretty aggressive. I was a bit nervous about these and it sat in the cabinet for a month before I tried it out. I couldn't get close under my nose without nicking it, but I'm sure that's because I'm out of practice and I have a mustache so I probably won't get much practice anyway. Other than that, it's worked fine and gives a good shave and is much easier to keep clean than those multi blade wonder razors. I've been using it exclusively for several months and like it better. Even like when I haven't shaved for a week or 2 and am pretty bushy, this will shave it clean without clogging. I'm still looking for a better razor though, one that will adjust. |

I picked one up the other day. The razor is metal but it is very, very light. The no-name metal blades are nothing special but give a decent shave. It will end up in my travel bag probably. I will look for the blades mentioned above the next time I'm there. I was able to pick up a package of Van Der Hagen German blades at our local Brookshire grocery store for $3.85. The two young ladies at the checkout had no idea what they were or what they were used for. Hilarity ensued.

| Well, this razor is about worth what it cost. It actually fell apart on me twice while I was shaving. Didn't notice the first time and I nearly cut my own throat. I put it back together and noticed that it was loose at the hinges so I was a bit more careful. Then it fell apart as I rinsed it with water before the next shave so I tossed it. I got a King-C-Gillette. muuuuuch better. |
Picked one up and it's honestly not bad for the money. Shaves pretty decent. Better than a Disposable Bic in my opinion. It's worth at least $1.75.  ETA: For comparison, my usual is a Gillette Slim Adjustable with feather blades. This is definitely superior, but this isn't a bad option for travel, etc. |

| Keep an eye on the hinge's, mine fell apart right there. I liked the shave from the safety razor much better than the plastic disposables I had and that peaked my interest. When I got the Gillette though it was like night and day. The difference in shave was noticeable. And I can't understand why guys switched to those plastic razors. I looked at some of the "better" plastics and the price was $20-$30+. And the blade refills were about the same. The King-C was $30 with blades and I'm still on the first blade, I got 2 packs of 5. I just don't understand why guys went to those plastic things in the first place. If my Dad was still alive I'd ask him. |
