I was talking to a patient on Friday and he asked who I was pulling for to win and I basically said "I don't really follow things, who's playing this year?"

Wings on the smoker.

ABT's prepped and ready to go on in a bit.

All stocked up on beer.

I can't wait for the lackluster commercials and lame halftime show.

Apparently if the Bengals win, their quarterback will be the first 12 year old to win the Heisman, national championship, and super bowl.

I hope the kitties win. I like kitties.

I like rams too, though. I like to say "I peeped some sheep" when I see them on the road licking the salt.

So I guess what I'm saying is, this will have zero impact on my life. I could go for some those snacks though. They sound good.

The only impact it has on my life is my being at work 2 hours early so day crew can get home in time for the game.
I'm such a nice guy.

Not as bad of a shitshow as I thought it'd be.
I know nothing of that side of shooting. Spell me a story?

Pour 50 grains of Goex 3f down the barrel
Put .490 led ball on .010 lubed patch
Slam it together with a ramrod
A little Goex 4f in the pan
Close frizzen, pull hammer back
Squeeze trigger and try not to flinch

Chew on patchcloth strip continuously,
dump 120gr Goex 2F down bore,
Set cloth on muzzle,
Press .735" ball just below flush,
Cut with patch knife,
Ram home,
Prime with splash of goex 2f
Close frizzen and haul hammer to full cock
Try to hold aim and not flinch while pulling 12# trigger

BOOM

Pre cut, pre lubed patches ftw

Also, set triggers

I want a matched pair Lancaster style rifle/smoothrifle in .58/24ga.

Like this but bigger bore.

Had a Cabela's Hawken .58 cap gun with set trigger and it was nice for targets, but I prefer a single trigger for rock locks.

Fin stabilized dart vs spinning bullet to push velocity as high as possible, reduced barrel wear and to take advantage of the better penetrating capabilities of the long rod penetrator design itself. Because it's a sub caliber device you are focusing the same energy that would have gone into a 120mm diameter projectile into a much smaller 40mm projectile which reduces the surface area of the projectile on the strike face of the armor and therefore it has less armor to overmatch. APFSDS pierces armor like butter and might have a better BC as well, which translates into better range because of the fins and smaller drag of the projectile, but don't quote me on that. I never studied the BC differences between rifle and fin stabilized rounds while I was in, but I did look at the ballistics tables quite a bit

14 to 1 seems to be the magic ratio of length to diameter in long rod penetrators. And that's what HK said

Yes, but also unlimited speed is a liability in combat. Tracks inherently want to jump off the tank at every oppportunity and speed exacerbates this, especially while turning. Tankers can and do use every bit of speed they can get even when it's not safe and a tank without tracks is pretty useless

Also, if you've ever thrown yourself off the back of a truck at 20mph, that is what it feels like inside the turret when you hit obstacles at speed. There are no seatbelts and you don't slow down like the tank does when the tank hits something big, like a ditch or a tree or big ass pothole

I think I'm going to Oplot of this conversation

Time for a quick whiskey then off to bed. I'm going to attempt a 4 month stretch of no drinking, starting soon

Home from the muzzle loader shoot

Not as bad of a shitshow as I thought it'd be.
I know nothing of that side of shooting. Spell me a story?

Pour 50 grains of Goex 3f down the barrel
Put .490 led ball on .010 lubed patch
Slam it together with a ramrod
A little Goex 4f in the pan
Close frizzen, pull hammer back
Squeeze trigger and try not to flinch

Chew on patchcloth strip continuously,
dump 120gr Goex 2F down bore,
Set cloth on muzzle,
Press .735" ball just below flush,
Cut with patch knife,
Ram home,
Prime with splash of goex 2f
Close frizzen and haul hammer to full cock
Try to hold aim and not flinch while pulling 12# trigger

BOOM

Pre cut, pre lubed patches ftw

Also, set triggers

I want a matched pair Lancaster style rifle/smoothrifle in .58/24ga.

Like this but bigger bore.

Had a Cabela's Hawken .58 cap gun with set trigger and it was nice for targets, but I prefer a single trigger for rock locks.

I'll eventually get a smoothbore

I'm a fan of smoothbores too

I could use that on my morning commute.
You knew I was going to post a smoothbore photo

An Abrams without the electronic governor can get a speeding ticket on many freeways. There really is no limit to it's awesomeness

Why do they have the governor? Is it a safety thing?

Yes, but also unlimited speed is a liability in combat. Tracks inherently want to jump off the tank at every oppportunity and speed exacerbates this, especially while turning. Tankers can and do use every bit of speed they can get even when it's not safe and a tank without tracks is pretty useless

OOF

I did not know that there were so seatbelts. I figured it would be like a helicopter - they’re there, but they only get used in peacetime.

It's a high end version, with a Boyd's stock.  Which is odd for WM.  Their guns are no worse than anyone elses, but usually aren't the "fancy" ones.

He paid about $440 after tax for it with the $40 bipod after his discount.  $423 is the regular price of the gun.

If a girl was pregnant.
But further along than she thought.
Its probably yours but maybe not.
Before the paternity test she gets snappy.

Says you're either in or you're out.
You have to decide before the tests.

What kind of shit is that?
That's not reasonable.

Interesting to see some of the threads posted tonight- mods must all be kneeling at super bowl parties....

Taken from the Gweneth Paltrow vagina candle commercial thread:
