Good morning gents, After a few months of following this forum I'd decided I wanted my first automatic watch. I did some YouTube research. Looked at a bunch of auctions to see what the secondary market prices traded at and checked the what are you wearing thread daily. IM'd a bit with members here who's tastes aligned with what I like (special thanks to @RobertL for his recommendations). Long story short, I was ready to pull the trigger on a modestly priced automatic. Got caught with my CC out and was reminded by my fiancé that we're getting married in January. She respectfully asked that I refrain from watch and gun purchases until after we tied the knot. That's OK I guess. I agreed to comply. Yesterday she surprised me with an engagement watch. It's not something I would have chosen, but it's a gift from the heart so I thought I'd share. Thorum Aloha. Japanese quartz movement. Inexpensive but a heartfelt theme to it. We're getting married on Kauai. Koa wood at the 12. Black on black crime dial and hands, but I really love the sentiment, even if I can't read the time  .Attached File Going to need to have some options for the strap. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. |

Most everything we do is in ultra high vacuum and requires low outgassing SS. She's reading the description from their site. Gets to, "three hundred sixteen litre stainless". I chuckled and said baby, that's 316L. Such a fun gift. Glad she didn't spend a ton on it. It's something I will cherish forever. |
