I recently bought this vintage Ever-Ready Brush on eBay.  I pulled the old knot, cleaned it up a bit and installed a new Silvertip Grade A badger knot from The Golden Nib. I'm really happy with how it turned out and the first shave with it this morning was incredible.

You remove the old bristles by drilling them out and then clean out the pocket. Then measure the diameter of the hole and order a knot 1mm smaller than the hole.
