where is your starting point? do you have a previous edition of windows or other operating system? you're posting on-line, so you have access to You Tube.. lots of videos already have you covered. it's not difficult, just a bit time consuming. you got this... you just need patience. |

| Currently running Win 10 and just hoping it runs smoothly. I've played with 11 on my wife's laptop with Classic shell so it shouldn't be much different. I'm just worried about losing stuff. |

If your computer supports Win11 natively, it will be available through Windows Update. If it doesn't, why do you want it? It's significantly more involved and will require a full reinstall of Windows, not just an in-place upgrade. |

Download the Win11 ISO from Microsoft. Download Rufus. Get a flashdrive and format it/wipe it clean. NTFS is fine. Open Rufus and select the flashdrive as the destination and the Win11 ISO as the source. Use Rufus to configure the installer, disable data collection, disable Microsoft account requirements, etc. Back up your data on the machine you want to install Win11 on. Reboot machine and boot to the flashdrive. Install windows. You'll have a fresh new install. Install all required drivers and software and move your data back to it from your backup. |

A clean install is better. But if that's above and beyond what you want, the 5 year old solution is to download the Windows 11 Installation Assistant and run it. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11 |
