I started printing this back in December and gathering the required parts catching sales.

Just purchased the last part buying a 10.5" 5.56 barrel for $65. I was wanting a 7.5" or shorter, but couldn't pass up $65 for a barrel that's going to be used for 22LR.

Takes a CMMG 22LR conversion kit with the 5.56 adapter and a lower parts kit that you only need the safety spring/detent and fire control group. Barrel can be 5.56, dedicated 22LR, or build your own with a barrel liner.

I've put about 3 mags through it in the back yard of my parents in the country. Tomorrow heading to the range to sight the red dot in.

Fun little gun.

$65 BCA 10.5" barrel (it's a 3d printed gun for fun)
$150 ish on a CMMG AR 22LR conversion kit (caught Primary Arms having a sale)
$5 for mag springs (pack of 5 from Black Dog Machine)
$100 in hardware from McMaster, but could build many more of them and had more things than required for this project.
$35 for a AR15 lower parts kit
$45 for the Red Dot (Actually kinda impressed with it).

So, $300 without hardware.

Looks good.

I really wanted a shorter barrel, but maybe I'll build another 10.5" range blaster AR to put my barrel on and get a dedicated 22LR barrel.

I went with a dedicated barrel to get the optimum twist rate for .22LR. I also have a 4.5" CMMG barrel that took 6 month to get here. Don't know what I'm going to do with it yet. I only have one CMMG bolt at the moment. First world problems..

I don't think we can link directly but if you Google "AWCY Scarpion" more than a few links should pop up

You will also need a few parts from the AWCY Sczorpion Evo release as well. The Scarpion readme will tell you which ones you'll need.

The only freefloat handguard from the Scarpion .22 files is for a 16" barrel, pistols will need the handguard files from the AWCY Scorpion 9mm distro. Oops. Now I need to score a cheap bolt/16" barrel/FCG and filament so I can build a rifle to use this extra handguard I now have.
