I have not gotten the check or even the shirts yet from Custom Ink. Hopefully later this week we should see both and have some final numbers. |

My students want to clean up some problem areas that the paint is revealing, so much of today will be sanding and fixing little problem contours before we add more paint.
There are a few more details happening today, but their suggestion is a good one and needed. |

Just got a notice that my hoodie and shirt have been delivered, I’ll check them out during lunch.

I've reminded them about the coms ideas that you all suggested earlier in the year. https://i.imgur.com/WUjtp02.jpg https://i.imgur.com/TtI3sD4.jpg After refacing the cowling faces, we also refaced and angled the intakes to look correct. They were pointing down too much. https://i.imgur.com/PGfumUc.jpg https://i.imgur.com/13uKRX1.jpg Foam being fitted to finish the mating between the outer cowling and the wing edge. The students were excited to see it all together for the first time, including the cowlings. Lots of "This is way bigger than it looked", and a really cool, "We built that!" comment from a young lady, who has put a lot of time into this whole project. https://i.imgur.com/bRRpZZ5.jpg With time in the day running out, my freshman crew that finished their Impressionistic paintings came down to add a bit more paint before the evening show. https://i.imgur.com/ueTAfuk.jpg https://i.imgur.com/C8lwBlB.jpg https://i.imgur.com/KmsugHd.jpg https://i.imgur.com/zVqyEBd.jpg My Senior ambassadors enjoyed talking about taxidermy and the project to the 8th graders and their parents. When there was a brief slow period when the crowd was in the auditorium, they decided they needed to do more work. They went down and grabbed materials and started working. The evening went very well, and several parents tried to sign up for the class. One of the coolest moments of the night was when a younger guy came up to say hi. He started asking the Seniors what they thought of the class.......after they started giving me a little shit about how terrible it was, and what a slave driver I was, the young(Late 20s) man, revealed to them that he was the Team Leader on the Stagecoach, Wolf, and Grizz. It was the first time he'd been back since he graduated. He toured the school to see what had been added, and see how his projects were now displayed with the locomotive. It was cool. https://i.imgur.com/x56ekMN.jpg https://i.imgur.com/nYToEij.jpg View Quote That propeller axis change made a HUGE difference! It doesn't look off now and I hardly noticed the gap between leading edge and nmotor cowling. Odd how one detail change can make such a big difference, even before propellers are installed! Reminds me of your instructions of "detail in tiny details" method of making things look so great. |

The t shirt and hoodie turned out great!
One thing about the moon clock, maybe paint the side so it isn’t black, paint it like the smoke? Attached File |

Some anti-reflective coating on crystal/window/front would help as well, but that's pushing too far. |

I think the ranger on the tower or maybe a fireman should be wearing one of the t-shirts.
I'm sure someone could paint the t-shirt design in miniature. |

What is their lpi/dpi resolution, should be 200 dpi (really crappy inkjet printer level)? It could have been made maybe 10% larger and fit, the whole buffalo or were they talking about 50% bigger or something? |

I just looked and they only a actually print at 72 dpi (1 point typography height is 1/72 in) 72 DPI for dark ink on a light shirt, and 120 DPI for light ink on a dark shirt, at actual print size. They want the 200 dpi file to edit down what gets left out apparently. They could do better but it'd get crazy spendy. Options would be embroidered or DTG (Direct To Garmet) which is like ink jet printing with laser printer like fusing step on each shirt. I don't think you'd get many people interested at $90/shirt. At least you were warned, it looks good enough to recognize as "A seal of some sort" and the buffalo gives a hint there. And there's no misprinted, wrong size, or glitched graphics having different graphics and stuff like the nightmare last year. Well, not that I have looked at yet, still waiting for it. |
