The review mentions that war crimes are being committed by all the factions involved, suggesting that none of the sides are intended to be portrayed as "the good guys".
ETA: I'm guessing that's why the protagonists are journalists. That could be a pro-journalism bias, but it allows the audience to not identify with any side. |

I don't believe they possibly COULD make it unbiased. Not because they are evil, or trying to hide some bias. I think they probably set out to make it completely unbiased, to make as much money as possible, I just don't think people are capable of doing that, especially film makers. They believe they are the middle of the road politically, even though we see them as far left. They will present their "Middle of the road" and it will be far left.

People have a hard time understanding that not everyone feels and believes the same as they do. It is easy to see California and Austin as allies - and easy to see neither understands that the majority of Texas is not like Austin.
Of course there is a bit of an opposite to that. Take somebody out of their environment and put them into one that is completely different, and often they will adapt to their new environment. Musk moved production to "Austin" because it was California East - but he did not actually move it to Austin, he moved it to the area around Austin - which is vastly more conservative than the city. Musk does not act nearly as much like a person from California now. |
