Kill Canadas that have been eating on a several thousand acre peanut field for weeks in the panhandle. Not bad eating then

It's just pest eradication. It's no different than eradicating rats, or iguanas. Some species of geese can be exterminated in Florida.

Honk & flap with all their might and fury that they could raise. Then calmly I lowered the tailgate to the vehicle and out steps Sarah, my black lab. Charge stopped right there. They never leave the retention ponds in our neighborhood. They are always there. This crazy old coot feeds them 3 times a day.
We are way past taking them off the protected list. |

Good. Non migratory geese are nothing but shit factories. Kill them all.

Quoted: MIRAMAR, Fla. - Ten geese drowned in a South Florida lake after a homeowners association's attempt to trap, sedate and euthanize them went horribly awry. The SilverLakes homeowners association in Miramar hired a company, Pest Wildlife Pro, to remove 25 geese because some residents found them to be loud pooping machines, although others saw them as majestic. The company's owner fed the geese bread laced with sedatives, but a loud car spooked the drugged birds and they flew off. Ten fell into the lake and drowned, while he found the other 15 and euthanized them offsite. City officials put the blame on the association, sending the officers a letter that it now faces a likely fine. https://www.fox13news.com/news/drugged-geese-drown-landing-florida-homeowners-association-in-hot-water View Quote What is the hunting season on them down there? Unless they got permission to do that, I can’t see how that would be legal. If the habitat is good for geese, more will come back anyway. We never used to have them till my home area blew up with big city moving in years ago and building mega homes with every damn one putting a lake in. Canada geese are mean and make a damn mess. One transplant with a new lake used to freaking chase them with his car. He managed to tag a bunch charging the flock. Guy did not have a good rep though.

As with all other native migratory birds, Canada geese are federally protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA) and state protected by Florida's adoption of the MBTA (Florida rule 68A-16) and general prohibition for nest take (Florida Rule 68A-9.002).
Federal law protects Canada geese. It is illegal to harm geese, their eggs, or their nests in the United States without permission from the U.S. Fish and Wild Service (USFWS). Geese may be harassed or scared away without a permit as long as the geese, goslings, eggs, and nests are not harmed. ... Geese graze on lawns. |

There is a fair sized pond about 100yds from my address . Covered up with those nasty crapping birds .
They have been trapped many times and their numbers always recover . They are a novelty at first but damn they mess up the driveway and roads . They will stand in the street and dare traffic to piss them off . Feathered Thugs . gd |

Cheap chow for the girls. |

Doesnt bother me.
They ruined the ponds at my old community. We hired a co that used dogs to run them off but that only worker for a few days, then the shitmachines returned. |

From a local news article...
..."According to Miramar Police, the Gray Leg Geese are not a protected species which means killing them was not a criminal offense..." And from myfwc.com regarding Egyptian geese.. Egyptian geese, like all nonnative species, are not protected in Florida except by anti-cruelty law Florida Statute § 828.12. They can be captured and humanely killed on private property at any time with landowner permission. Their nests and eggs may also legally be removed and destroyed. It is illegal to release or relocate captured nonnative species in Florida per Florida Administrative Code 68-5.001. egyptian geese |

I'll bet it has more to do with the shit everywhere than the noise. I play golf near a wetlands. It's everywhere.
I wish we could hunt them like ducks. I'd donate a ton of meat to the local soup kitchens. |
|
That’s ok, a couple years ago Denver, City of killed a slew of them in parks and “donated” the meat to the homeless and needy.
Geese that fed off of city park lakes. Fucking yuck |

I live on a large pond. Geese were everywhere when we moved here 10 years ago. The poop was ankle deep all over the back yard. But after the first year with me living here no geese landed on the pond after Memorial Day. The geese communicate with each other like crows do and warn each other about the crazy guy with the German pellet rifle in the bedroom window.
It is best to get the geese gone before school lets out. I do my work midmornings in April and May when the neighbors are at work or in school. I go for broadside shots and aim in the middle of their heavy wing. I want them to leave and go somewhere else. The geese can be easily killed with a pellet to the base of the neck. |

An office I had a couple jobs ago was in a building that had a large walled pond with several fountains in it. Because of that, it wouldn’t freeze as quickly so it was a magnet for the geese and storks.
They would shit everywhere. We actually had a gal break her elbow because she slipped on ice that had goose crap on it. (Pro tip ladies: heels are not bad weather gear…) Canada geese are the worst. Entitled, obnoxious a-holes. I guess they leave that Canadian niceness up north… |

The geese should have formed their own HOA.
Get some of that good restrictive covenant thing going, maybe something about not killing geese. |

There's a reason people with chickens often get a "guard goose" to protect the flock.

Love the honkers, they're good eatin', bet the Egyptians are decent roasted also. Too bad they couldn't just use a suppressed .22 and pick them off one at a time.

Canada Geese here are fucking rats with wings. Shit on everything. They don't even migrate anymore.
|
|
Nobody seems to be asking the bigger question.
Why does this guy just "happen" to have enough date rape drugs on hand for 25 geese? Is this a normal thing in Florida? |
|
No HOA, but a lot of red necks with big trucks around. There used to be a half a dozen of those pests about 3/4 mile from my house. They would walk across the road, as if they owned it. They don’t do that anymore.
