Just like with consignment firearms right now, IMHO it's an absolutely epic time to buy - truly a real buyers market. Been looking for a couple grail type geetars that I need like a hole in the foot , and man o man are many prices super sweet right now. That is all.

Yes. I had to threaten to report them to the state insurance commission and take them to court (because they helped a scamming buyer to use PayPal to renege on their own terms of service) before they finally worked with me on a rather expensive guitar that was damaged by the buyer and who then tried to return it against all of my and Reverb's policies.
Fuck Daniel, fuck Chicago Music Exchange, and fuck anyone who gives them money. |

Yep. I've bought and sold on there. Always a good experience, but I look at seller/buyer ratings before I engage them.

I have used reverb and ebay. They were both OK, but a lot of what ifs, and hassle if things go south. I prefer facebook marketplace fact to face now. For selling and buying.

I've sold a couple and bought a few on there, and knock on wood so far it's been great. I too scrutinize the feedback and chat with the potential seller or buyer beforehand. And sadly yeah, the world is still full of assholes that are hard to initially identify . The worst I suffered was one guy did not fully represent a scratch on a pickguard for one I bought, and I just let that go.

I wasn't expecting you so soon. Usually I have to say "drunken half-wit" three times before you show up.

My daughter sells on there all the time and she is an RN in the county nursing home. In her spare time she makes some of those trinkets you speak of with the residents and then she sells them on etsy and puts it in a bank account. When there is enough money in the account they have a little party, or take a little trip to a local museum, or shit like that. She just bought a laser cutter/engraver to make even more shit as a hobby to sell on there. All of the profits she makes from it also go into that account to do good for her residents. |

I don't give a shit if they were different legal organizations the same dickheads were in charge of both. Last I heard (one of my good friends has a high level CME employee in her band) management was still local and for all intents and purposes Reverb is operated by CME at CME regardless of legal ownership. Please expound. |

Good experiences. My son bought a $900 Ibanez BTB bass and had it shipped from Idaho to TX without issue. I've bought and sold quite a bit there.

Well since the jackasses that tried to fuck me already got paid and are ostensibly no longer getting paid, I retract my objections to any arfcom frens using the service to rock harder and louder. I appreciate the course correction. |

I've bought from reverb a few times but now that they collect taxes they are not a whole lot better than Sweetwater. And when they went woke on Mike Fuller (Fulltone) I gave up on them. I still check it out and if there is something I might be interested in I contact the seller and see if there is a way to keep the feds and stateies from stealing my money.

I have a couple of guitars listed there now and I have purchased my last 5-7pretty expensive guitars on Reverb without playing them first. My last guitar purchase was a grail guitar (a Lowden O-50). I’ve only had one sketchy experience and Reverb had my back. I would recommend. |

View Quote There is a “local pickup” option. But I think If you negotiate “off site deals” through Reverb and they catch it you will get booted. I have purchased guitars from folks I initially met on Reverb and then met locally FtF and saved a few bucks. |

Seems like guitars are one of those “I can sell it when things get tight” options. If Trump gets back in office and the good times start rolling-nice stuff is going to command a premium price again. If the pole dancer is put in charge- there will be even more great deals to be had. |

I've sold nearly a dozen basses, and about as many other pieces of gear, on Reverb. I've only bought a couple small things there.
No issues but I'm particular about who I will deal with. I've rejected more offers than I've accepted. I've only had a single return on a pedal that worked fine when I received it back. Buyer/ operator error. My only complaint is the fees are high. But I figure that's the cost of weeding out the riffraff. I don't do local, in person sales anymore. |

I've sold gear there. They have a pretty extensive vetting process. ID, banking info, etc.
I trust Reverb. |
