Thanks for all the replies and advice.  I am going to look harder at the kubota 4802 i think.  I got a quote around 45k with a 3rd function installed.  I have no idea yet on what the jd is going for but either way it will be financed and i think kubota has better terms.

It's crazy how much these tractors keep going up.

I bought my MX5400 3 yrs ago, and for the tractor with a top, 3rd function valve, skid steer style tires, grapple, and free flow hydraulics up front w/ front cutter the total was $35k.

It's not that the tractor price keeps going up, it's that your money keeps losing value.

Kubota does have better terms used to be 0% for 60 month. If it comes with insurance do not pay it off early. Kubota insurance is fantastic but ends the moment you pay the last payment.

Yea, ive never had to use the insurance but ive heard its good as long as its financed.  If thr next tractor is kubota it will be the 7th kubota  (3 tractors, 2 zero turns and an rtv).

Picked up a 10 year old Kioti DS4510 with the backhoe last spring at an auction.  Tractor had 61 hours on it.  No DEF, no emissions bullshit, no electronics.

Been great so far, has done everything we've asked of it so far.  Added skid steer forks and have used it to move some pretty decent sized white oak logs.

Our local Kioti dealer is 45 minutes up the road and has been more than willing to answer questions.

I have. My dad was a bit of a hoarder. About 2 weeks after mine was delivered, I was cleaning up around his place. I ran over a pice of conduit and shatter the drivers door. Dealership hauled it in, and fixed the door for $150.

If you plan on handling round bales with the grapple get a tractor with rear wheel weights. Pay attention to the transmission and how it’s going to work in the situations you need it for. Some set ups work great pulling in the open field but suck for handling bales.
