| I bought GTA V and it wasn't what I thought it was. I just wanted to drive around and commit mayhem. I wasn't looking for a story line you had to follow. A ask about it in GD and amongst the shit show I got one real answer that after you got through the initial robbery deal you get to drive around like I wanted. Well, I managed to get through that and to where you and your buddy are taking the cars but you are still stuck in a story line having to follow and keep up with him or the game stops as soon as you lose him. Is there ever a point where you get do do what I thought the game was, drive around and commit mayhem, without being stuck in some story line you have to follow or some way to get there? |

Sounds like you’re “stuck” in a mission. Bought that for my step son and after the initial story line mission he just drives around causing mayhem If the graphics weren’t so amazing compared to what I grew up with San Andreas was much better. It’s almost like it’s too real with too many things to do |

I'm pretty sure once you deliver the first car to the dealership the game will then switch perspectives to Michael and then you can then join GTA Online through the settings menu. It will have you make a GTA Online character and off you go. Once you earn or steal some money you can buy an apartment and start storing your stolen (or purchased cars) in the garage there. There are tons of things to do. I do suggest playing in a private session though since the game has a lot of cheaters in public sessions. |

You can go online at that point. Back in the xbox 360 days i ran thru all of story mode but really mainly only play online with a friend. When we moved to the latest Xbox we had to start over. Currently my story mode progress is exactly where you are with Franklin and Lamar stealing a couple cars. I just go straight online and don't bother with story mode. |
