Any agencies carrying one even if only in the investigations/admin assignments? Safariland has an ALS holster for the 48 MOS , any other duty holsters out there? What are you using for mag pouches? How about mag pouch/holster combos? |

I am a probation officer. We are approved the 43x soon to be 48 also for duty use (Don't ask why not the 48 already). Our Sheriff's Dept detectives and one of the local PDs authorize their detectives to carry the 43x and 48 also. The ALS Safariland should fit a 43x and 48 in my experience. I carry a G45 by choice in a Safariland 6378 ALS. As far as mag holders, plain clothes, I recommend the Blade Tech Total Eclipse. They make a single and double. Super easy on and off and great retention.

I just retired, but we are currently only authorized to carry the 43X, but when I was talking to our primary firms instructor before I left, he said the 48 should soon be authorized as well. These are only for use as a backup gun or for admin and office types whereas it has to be a 17 or a 19 for enforcement use. We don’t mandate what type of holster the individual agents carry with, that’s completely up to their discretion. |

43x MOS issued to Narc/ICAC detectives in usually in Safariland ALS or one of either Bravo Concealment OWBs or an Incog AIWB rig. We were switching them to Shield Gen3 mags and mag releases previously.. now Glock just dropped their 15rd mags for them. Anyone else currently is issued a Gen 5 G45 with SRO. Preparing to transition to Gen 6 G17/COA's with Radian Ramjets. |
