Situation- have a 2022 Ram Limited with the Hemi. Looking at a 2026 Tungsten that comes with the Hurricane V6. Ram is offering up to $16k off the Tungsten, which puts it in line with what I paid for the Limited 4 years ago. Dilemma- I know nothing about the Hurricane and have had two Hemi Rams in the past 20 years. My current Ram just hit 50,000 miles and has what I believe to be a busted exhaust manifold bolt or two (seriously loud exhaust when starting and accelerating). Will this be covered by the 60,000 / 10 year warranty? Not sure. Anyone here go from a Limited or other tier Ram to the Tungsten? If so, what are your thoughts? Also, is the Hurricane really worth it? I do very little trailer hauling but am no stranger to filling up the bed with steel targets; tools; landscaping rocks; etc... |

| I have a 2017 Ram Limited with the Hemi, so far so good @ 85k. I've thought about going new but stick with the Hemi as I'm not big on trying out a new engine. I prefer to wait a couple years to let the gremlins settle down with the new engine, especially a turbo engine. The difference in HP and torque between both engines doesn't matter for my needs either. We will not even bring cost into the question at this time. I'd stick with the Hemi. |

Love my 300 6 banger in the ole 95 F-150. Would I buy a new turbo charged 6 cylinder from Dodge the first 3-5 years. HELL NO. It's to new and nobody knows the issues yet. Actually after all the problems I had with the last 2016 Dodge Charger Hemi. Would I even look at another Dodge product, HELL NO. Holy depreciation and no resale value. |

On my second Hurricane (work for a dealership group, so I flip rides every 18 months or so). Standard Output 420 HP. Plenty of power. Would not go back to the Hemi, not that it's bad; they just tuned it too loud to appease the V-8 purests. MPG really about the same. That may be in part to driving a Rebel w Hurricane with off road tires and a lift vs my old Laramie with the Hemi. The Hurricane is somewhat akin to a Ford Eco Boost. You can have ECO or you can have Boost, not both at the same time. SO is baby bear porridge. Just right for all-around. More payload and towing. HO for fun. The HO in the Tungsten only shares 40% of parts with the SO. HO has forged pistons, etc. I have a heavy foot, and have driven the piss out of both of mine. IME, they are reliable. |

The Hurricane is still pretty new, but seems to be a solid engine. The only real issue I am aware of is that some of the early ones had sticky thermostats which is neither an engine nor a design issue and has since been addressed. I would buy a Hurricane powered Ram before I bought a V-35A powered Tundra. I like the Hemi too though. I have a 2013 1500 with a bit over 182,000 miles that has been an excellent truck. I recently bought a 2026 Hemi 2500 because I needed more payload and wanted a bigger cab. It just rolled 1000 miles yesterday though. TBH Chrysler has for the most part always had excellent powertrains. I wouldn't shy away from a Hurricane. |
