No, I forgot about the boots, too. I had to go back and edit my post for the Flak jacket.

I got tan boots and ACUs in basic, but all of my gear was OD and in the picture. I still have my Woodland Poncho Liner. I did get some DCU stuff when I got to my unit, but even initial issue there was all OD and Woodland stuff.

I was still getting issued OD crewman coveralls in 2018 being on a Bradley.

You didn't have 2 sets of gear/uniforms - one for garrison/inspections/parades & another set for the field (that got hidden in the ceiling or your car during inspections)?

Got it. When I went through MCRD in 1990 we still got issued one pair of the green top jungles along with one pair of the leather combat boots. Either while I was still at MCRD or immediately after we started seeing the black nylon topped jungle boots start replacing the green ones.

Got it. When I went through MCRD in 1990 we still got issued one pair of the green top jungles along with one pair of the leather combat boots. Either while I was still at MCRD or immediately after we started seeing the black nylon topped jungle boots start replacing the green ones.

If I remember right, 91 or 92 we were told to dye or green boots black.

In the real world off-campus, good marksmanship trumps good will.

No, I forgot about the boots, too. I had to go back and edit my post for the Flak jacket.

I got tan boots and ACUs in basic, but all of my gear was OD and in the picture. I still have my Woodland Poncho Liner. I did get some DCU stuff when I got to my unit, but even initial issue there was all OD and Woodland stuff.

I was still getting issued OD crewman coveralls in 2018 being on a Bradley.

Got it. When I went through MCRD in 1990 we still got issued one pair of the green top jungles along with one pair of the leather combat boots. Either while I was still at MCRD or immediately after we started seeing the black nylon topped jungle boots start replacing the green ones.

If I remember right, 91 or 92 we were told to dye or green boots black.

I went through in 93 and my first pair of jungle boots was green.
All subsequent boots were black.
Maybe they found a few more boxes of green hidden in supply somewhere?
