As a former golf professional, I don’t think it is appropriate to provide golf instruction over the internet. There are too many variables to assess someone’s body type/mechanics to accurately correct their swing, unless an in person lesson is provided. Lots of good intentions in this thread, but I would encourage anyone serious about improving their game to find a good instructor that they can communicate with to work with. I will say, the most important aspect of switching to graphite shafts was the “feeling” of the weight of the club head versus the weight of the head and the shaft combined. This has a lot to do with grip pressure. Try to “feel” the club head only. |

| Yeah, the whole "so good he's boring" thing doesn't make sense to me. Going from "We were busy after winning the Masters, didn't have time to prepare" to taking the lead today was great. But watching a YouTube underdog go wire to wire was also something. |

Anyone on the course today? 37° was the high today. Anything below 40° and I move up to the senior tees. 3 wood was not working off the tee, so I just used my 3+ hywood from hole 3 on. The rain and work had kept me from playing the last two weeks, so all in all today wasn't terrible. Thought I was going to shoot below my handicap until I went double-double on the last two hole. Oh well, it was fun being out on the course again. |

I manage expectations and keep a short memory, but winter golf in the PNW is not fun. Smash a nice fade off the tee but didn't see a bounce or your ball? Yeah, that's because it's fucking plugged in the fairway and you won't find it. Congratulations, drop 2, hit 3..... Take a divot on your approach off the fairway? No. Save the swing and just sling mud all over yourself instead. Oh, last green was in the sun and kinda slow, well this one is shaded and the drainage is shit, so that rooster tail about to come off your ball is gonna leave ya just a bit short.....oh, and it might be better just to chip over that fucking puddle while you're at it bud. Go ahead leave those golf shoes at home, you're gonna need fucking muck boots out here sport.  |
