I personally will limit the technological level to nothing above the levels of ancient Egypt or Sumeria. But what if, prior to that last glacial advance, there were fairly advanced peoples not only of the Homo Sapiens but possible Neanderthal or maybe Denisovan populations, also. Maybe even others. The "global flood" may be accounted for in more than one incident. For instance, the last major glacial advance would have covered large portions of the northern Hemisphere in huge glacial sheets which, of course are frozen water ( where water covered even the mountain tops in the Old Testament Flood of Noah ) and the global weather may have been more cold and wet in many places where these civilizations once stood but were subsequently scoured by the weather. Then you have the Younger Dryas event which is a catastrophic "beginning of the end" of the last Glacial Maximum. You can imagine some civilizations finally recovering only to be wiped off the map yest again during that major global change. Do the Nephilim or other "Mighty Men of Old, Men of Renown" fit in here? I don't know. It's something I am not sure we will ever fully know. |
