Was recently looking at things like this to play some of the older games. Think Gameboy to PSP range of quality. Anyone here have experience with these types of consoles. Is there a recommendation for an actual “good” one? Similar to this |

Analogue pocket is amazing, I have one and it’s pretty great. Versatile with the amount of different cartridges it can play The mod retro is made by lucky Palmer the anduril guy. I would go with the Retroid Pocket series after having owned one. I plan on getting a 5 at some point, but the 4 is a good one and plenty on Ebay. If you want this specific Gameboy shape/layout they have the Retroid Pocket Classic which has good youtube reviews. I prefer the ones that are shaped like the PSP and have analogue sticks. It’s hacked and running some custom firmware. Runs Roms for PSP games well. Was looking to get a bit more modern. Especially battery. Those things were horrible for battery if my memory is correct. |

| I have an AYN odin 2 portal. its one of the best. if you want dual screen they offer the thor but you really gotta like nintendo DS games IMO for a dual screen. if the portal is too much the very similar smaller retroid pocket 5 or 6 is good too. they are android based, basically a android tablet with a OLED screen and joysticks. the retroid 5 will do up to some PS2, the odin 2 portal will do most switch games and software is getting close to allowing playstation 3. PS2 is pretty solid |
