I've deleted cookies and reinstalled Brave and tried everything else I could google up and nothing seems to work. Adblock is still working on Firefox, Edge, and DuckDuckGo. |

No problems here. Do you have a computer or network wide ad and nefarious stuff blocker that happens before Brave even tries Youtube? You need a combination of tools in layers. Just what one program provides is often not enough. Try toggling the "shields up / shields down" setting. Also, try searching the Brave forums for people with the same problem. How about embedded videos here or the direct links under them from here? Embedded links have different rules and will often work when it won't in other situations. (Though "must be logged in" videos won't work then.) Does your Google account work? |

I'm running AdBlock on all of my browsers, and YT works normally on Firefox/Edge/DuckDuckGo just fine. I've tested each shield in Brave one at a time, no joy. As far as embedded links, the video will pull up and start, run about 30 seconds, then lock up. I've tried everything I've found on the Brave forums and I'm running the latest updates. No issue playing videos on Rumble. It's been kind of quirky since I "upgraded" to Win 11 but since the middle of last week it's been tits up. |

Finally found the problem. I was also running Ghostery on the Brave browser and Adblock. I uninstalled Adblock and added it back, no difference. I turned Ghostery off, and it worked. Uninstalled and reinstalled Ghostery, and it killed it. I went to the Ghostery icon and turned it off for Youtube and that solved the problem. Odd, that's the first time anything has reactively negatively to Ghostery. |

Ghostery blocks JavaScript, so it totally makes sense that it would happen now and Ghostery would be the problem. Conveniently enough, there are now .exe JavaScript library emulators that can be used if you still do stuff that Youtube thinks is a bot. Glad you figured it out. This thread may help others. |

When I uninstalled Ghostery, one of the questions it asked was if it was interfering with YouTube. That's when it clicked. A co-worker used to call things like this a case of the simples. The answer was so simple you couldn't see it.
