If said_user pulled his bullshit on any of the forums I've help mod/admin over the years I can guarantee you that he would be dealt with quickly and it would be done via a group consensus. He could have stopped at any time.  He could have stopped after the first warning.  He could have stopped after the second warning.  He could have stopped after he was told to stop using his sig line.  He would have stopped after he was locked for using his avatar.  At every step of the way, he could just have stopped - but he made the deliberate choice to keep going, every time.

All he needed to do was ignore the guy, and everyone could have enjoyed his threads about BBQ and everything else - but he insisted on getting himself banned over some dumb internet dispute, by continuing to do the exact thing he had told would get him banned."
