I had a freezer that my parents bought in 1962. In Milwaukee.

It finally died in 2015.

The best thing I can say about today is that the canary is still present

Today was the day that we decided I need to assume control of dad’s financial matters. He turned 97 in May, and while he’s still there (mostly) he’s declining at an accelerated rate. Moved him to assisted living in June.

Fortunately we already have a durable PoA in place. Unfortunately, my sister, who has been unbeknownst to me using him as a piggy bank, and has every time in her life been presented with a decision making opportunity, has made the WRONG decision, will now be knocking on my door every time she needs money.

Pops has done pretty well for himself in life, and there are not insubstantial assets, of which she will inherit half, but jeebus I don’t look forward to telling her no in the meantime.

She’s struggled with health and addiction most of her adult life and I fear that when the day comes, and she comes into the money, she’ll drink or drug herself to death within 9 months. And I refuse to to get caught up in her bullshit. Won’t work to hurt her, but damn sure won’t work to help her.

Good luck.  My MIL is in her 80's and cognitively is declining fast.

At least my in laws are all squared away financially and emotionally.  It sucks because she was super active until just a few years ago

Not even an hour into karaoke and I've blown my voice out trying to sing Avatar.

Surprisingly slow but not slow - plenty of patrons at the bar, but not many signing up for karaoke.

Probably a thermostat or start cap would have fixed it

I usually avoid mixing sweet and spicy, but mango habanero snuff sounds interesting.

Attention! All arfcommers!

Aimless needs your help to STOP the dupe police.  Their incessant calls of dupe are going to exhaust the site resources of Arfcom and forever shut down the forum you all know and love!

He just needs your credit card number, expiration date.... and those three numbers on the back.

Otherwise the site will shut down forever and you'll have to shitpost on Sniper's Hide dot com!

No PayPal allowed.
