In my experience this is food sensitivity related. Try Nutramigen for a few days and see if the fussiness improves.

First, props to your wife for effort.

Now, that being said (and bearing in mind I don’t know shit about cooking), it seems to me that if the pie looked like a pie should BEFORE it went in the oven, it’ll probably look like a pie should look when it comes OUT of the oven.
