It was like that before the internet, just a lot slower and with more friction. As bad as we think the internet was, imagine being from the world before telegraphs where information spread at the speed of a horse or locomotive or boat, at fastest, and then along comes the telegraph, and your newspapers suddenly fill with nonsense daily news from across the continent that is meaningless to anyone that doesn't live right around where it happened. |

| I'm more worried about how soft and lazy we've become as a society. It's almost like we need an economic crash so people can relearn the important basics in life, like work ethic, good education, and not having trivial bullsh*t be the centerpiece of their lives. |

Mind your own business, don’t judge, don’t be mean… They have all contributed to the lack of social standards we see now. I’m only in my mid 40’s, but back in my day we would have relentlessly mocked and ostracized, then beat the shit out that thing if it tried to continue. It either got normal or lived in the shadows of society, in fear. Life was better back then. Weirdos aren’t special or even particularly useful to society. |

Do a higher percentage of people use illegal drugs exist now than in the 90s? My guess is marijuana is used more but I don't now about other drugs. |
