If Reagan was guilty of anything regarding FOPA, it was not revisiting the 'new' machinegun ban the following year to strip it out, which was a promise he made and didn't follow through on.

Also, FOPA did not make machineguns illegal.

Brady died a full decade after Reagan.
Reagan died 15 years after leaving office.
The Brady Bill was passed by Bill "fun to have a beer with" Clinton nearly 4 years after Reagan left office.

Every element of gun control: handgun bans, waiting periods, universal background checks, magazine bans, ugly gun bans, "cheap" gun bans, were present prior to January 20 1989, and Reagan did not advocate for gun control at all while president.

FOPA didn't do enough, cali, NY, MD, NJ, and several others ignore it altogether. There's no provision to punish the states, the judges, the prosecutors, or anyone else involved in violating it.

While true, those don't negate the fact that it was a net gain.

Be careful, I posted something very similar in the crusader meme thread, and it must have puckered some panties cause I couldn't post in GD for 24 hours, I know -lol.

You're wrong. What religion started WW1?  WW2?  Mao's and Stalin's mass killings/starvation?  Add up the hundreds of millions killed in the 20th century and let me know how many were the result of religion.

Communism and socialism are religions in which secular authority replaces the devine.

Starvation in Chine & former USSR were NOT wars, however criminal they were. Jesus, what are you, 12?

Gee, wonder why they don't keep their religion themed posts in the religious forum?

I could care less what someone believes or doesn't believe, it's not MY business. But some people are hellbent on shoving their beliefs into others' face at every single opportunity.

Virtually all of the conflicts in the Middle East since WW2 has been nothing but religious wars. How bout that Northern Island history too?

The revolutions that preceded and are inherently tied to them certainly were. You may have noticed that Red China never completely defeated Nationalist China, hence the Taiwan situation today; so I guess you could be myopic and say that the Great Leap Forward is distinct from the Chinese Civil War.

You could also argue that religion (Christianity, Judaism and a few others) has brought more peace, civilization, and prosperity to mankind. Islam not so much...

Sucks SCOTUS doesn't really have an enforcement arm. It'd probably go all Judge Dredd eventually, anyway.

Undetectable Firearms Act, FAOPA (which banned MGs and lots of other NFA items) and used executive authority to ban firearms from National Parks/Wildlife refuge (removed by Congress/Obama).
