There was a DeLorean dealer in Vallejo in the early 80s. Walked past it many times. Gosh I wish I'd bought one!! I thought it was too fancy for me.

Did .gov give out subsidies to people who bought Delorean's?
Just curious. |

Quoted: My son bought a Tesla. He lives in one of the upscale North Atlanta suburbs. Both him and his wife are CFOs and have a very high income. He bought the stupid car because in his neighborhood of $1+million homes it is a status symbol. He paid about $70K for it. One day while commuting home from work on HWY 400 during peak rush hour it just went dead on him. Nothing he could do would get it started. Because of his problem traffic was backed up for hours that evening. Everybody was pissed including the Atlanta police that had to manage the traffic. It was a chip malfunction and it took the dealership a month to repair it. He has driven it twice here to Central Florida to visit us. Despite Tesla claiming to have the quick charge stations it has taken him over two hours one way just to charge the car. I love the boy but he is a moron sometimes. View Quote I think he is doing something wrong I’ve done WNC to central Florida with less charging time on about 10 occasions |

Fuck, this thread is retarded.

EV technology is advancing fast. Ford's new electric truck has a range of almost 85 miles when fully charged...

I’m seeing plenty of Teslas here in Detroit.
Detroit is quickly adapting to EVs. Perhaps I notice them more than other people (we share the same parking areas), but I’ve seen Lightnings, Hummers, Mach-Es and Teslas in fairly decent numbers on my short commute. Plenty of places to plug in too. |

View Quote This is Tesla's problem moving forward. As more luxury brands make EVs that are, let's be frank, much better made, Teslas are going to lose their place as status symbols. They don't make economical EVs. Their pickup is vaporware and probably crap. CCS is going to be the standard going forward and Tesla is already planning to open their network up to CCS at the end of the year.
