I’m looking for an out of the box ready printer that can handle up to abs and like materials that has the closest bed size to the ender 5 plus bed volume that won’t go over a grand.  What are the recommendations?

None that match all those.

The QIDI XMAX 3 will get you most of the volume, but it isn't fiddle free.

The X1C is fiddle free, but slightly above a grand and the bed is much smaller. The P1S or P1P are both below a grand, but still have build volume limitations of 256mm³

The Prusa XL has the build volume basically but not the price.

The Voron 350 kit takes a ton of initial set up and is more than a grand to build.

So, you gotta make a concession or two.

Why do you want a large bed, and what are you willing to compromise on? A lot of people think they need a large bed when they don't.

yeah good luck..  printers with built in enclosures tend to be smaller.  5 plus inside a tent enclosure handles all of that.  personally it took me about 3 months to get my e5+ working correctly from unboxing to futz free..  now its bomb proof.  i dont think there is any printer that is going to be bomb proof out of the box and have that build volume and have an enclosure.

When Bambu releases their large format printer, I'm dropping $$.  *owner of 3 creality printers*

Same here.

It’s going to be their Gen 2 printers. Have high hopes as to what new tech they come up with. I don’t see it being as big of an advancement as the Gen 1 has been, but if it is… Oh boy.

The moment Bambu releases a 300mm or greater bed is the day that my Vorons will be put into storage; there is something to be said about no hassle printing

I have both the QIDI X-Plus3 and Bambu P1S.

The QIDI requires slightly more setup, but overall not a bad printer at all. I've become fond of the AMS on the Bambu though.

The Bambu P1S I haven't had to do anything to it, however when using the AMS system I've had a few issues with it, but some of it filament related. Just more parts to troubleshoot when something goes wrong on it. Other than that loading filament is way better on it than QIDI.

For the items I sell though the QIDI can print 12 vs only 6 on the Bambu. Bed size difference is only 256x256 on Bambu and 280x280 on QIDI, but the Bambu reserves bed space for a purge tower and it takes up space on the bed.

For comparison I also print 6 of them on the Ender 5 235x235 bed.
