GEV, I had it for a while after the split up and sold it. Then it took off. ![]() I guess I'll have to wait for another entry point on gas turbines. Cat, maybe. I'll be kicking myself in the ass for a while over that one. Go ahead and post your big mistakes to make me feel better. |
Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it..
| COIN. Bought it in 2023 for $38/share thinking that if this crypto thing really takes off a US listed exchange would be a safer option than Chinese exchanges based in the Bahamas. Then the Biden administration really started going after the crypto industry and I got nervous and sold around $80/share. I should have held on because it is around $380/share now. |

ill second on COIN. had a Large position at 45$ dumped all but a couple hundred shares at 70$. I console myself that the couple hundred shares is still good money and I already got my initial investment back but the voice in my head can't stop calculating what I would have if i just held on to it |

I held a bunch of $UUUU / Energy Fuels for years while it was range bound between $5-$7.50. Finally got tired of looking at it so I sold it. This week I saw it mentioned a few times so I looked it up and it’s $17. Not going to lose sleep over it though because there’s just as many horror stories about holding too long. My late father bought some medical device stock on the advice of a golfing buddy. In 6 months the stock went up 10x. He refused to sell instead wanting to hold for a year so the gain would be long term. By the one year mark the share price was less than he paid for it. |

Got screwed pretty hard in 2008 when they moved all of our GE stock in our 401K's to a GE Stock fund so that it wasn't as volatile. The stock fund never came back anywhere close to even with the stock. When they bought Baker Hughes and sold us off with them, I rolled it out after about 9 years to an IRA and put it in other things. It would have gone into Vernova stock. It would have been really nice. Originally Posted By bondservant2: Amateurs... In 2000 I bought 1000 shares of AAPL @$34 and sold that year @$42. I never got back in. I've still got 400 shares but have diversified over the years. |

Listened to SRS #231 with Gerard Barron of The Metals Company (TMC). Thought it sounded interesting and added to the watch list at around $5. It’s been climbing steadily for the past month. Currently over $9 and up over 21% today. Never put a buy in. Attached File |
