As much as I don't want to, after the last family outing, I can't do that again. I'm concerned about all that is involved. The fact that it is "permanently" attached to the truck means extra vehicles etc. I've thought about buying the cheapest carrier I can find for portability. With all of that said. What model of chair do they issue? The one I saw (how I found out I could get one) was pretty nice. I just want to get all of the info I could on the front end. I'm looking at buying a new truck to manage this. I currently have a 2006 Tacoma and will probably need a newer one. Thanks. |

I found a Dodge Caravan in good shape, bought it cheap enough to put it back in tip top shape. It's perfect for hauling my mobibilty scooter around. It's quick and easy to load and unload and can haul 4 passengers as well as the scooter simultaneously. It's basically a rolling garage and I dig teh shit out of it.  The scooter is here and I DIG it too.

I don't see that scooter you have in dark gray. |

I have zero experiences with getting a mobility scooter through VA. And hopefully that won't happen for a while. I do have a battery operated lift chair for the tub that VA gave me. I had issues with the battery and they replaced the entire lift chair. Years ago they installed a hand rail on the three steps going from my breezeway into the rest of the house along with grab rails in the shower/tub for me. I needed another grab rail and they were quick to send another one out to me. I have no complaints. |

LOL you aren't the first to suggest that. I have one of these. Attached File And I want to buy one of these   Failed To Load Product Data And customize it so he can pull it. I'd fix it to keep the brakes etc but remove the weight. |

I've used a scooter for some years now.  Sits high so you aren't looking at people's butts. Basically zero turn. Does very well on rough terrain, and can hit over 20 mph. As to Pride brands, my wife now needs one. But she wants something smaller. She now has a Pride Go Go Elite Traveler.  My scooter is quite a bit larger and heavier. I use a receiver hitch carrier from Harbor Freight. No complaints. My wife's goes in the truck bed. I'm using ramps not, but found out due to a safety switch you can't use power to get it up the ramps. No problem, I am just going to use a receiver mounted game hoist.  I did have to get some straps to allow a four point lift but it's easy peasy. |

I really like the scooter. It doesn't turn on a dime, BUT, it's head and shoulders above several. The 13"wheels give me good clearance and plenty of power. I'm not a fan that I'm supposed to keep the carrier on the truck. Attached File Attached File Attached File Just showing it. I'm blessed to have this to use. I took Knute in a 2 mile trot. | Keep the battery(s) topped off. They will last longer. I found this out the hard was during covid. I let mine sit for a month and the battery never did comeback completely. |
