I got some land here in Tennessee that has a pretty decent sized pond on it.  The sides are eroded and I need to smooth everything out and look nice.

It's also been just a wild pond for years, so plenty of moccasins and all around dirty looking.

Any pointers on how to get it cleaned up?

I'll be renting a skidsteer to cut in a road, so I'll use that to smooth the eroded sides.  I just don't know what to use/how to clean the water.  My dog LOVES water, so I want to get it nice and clean so it looks nice and my dog can swim without stinking.

Also, post pics of your ponds!

I want to make a small dock also once everything is cleaned up.

I'm heading out there now with my silenced .22 to get rid of any moccasins I see.

.410 is much more efficient . . . and possibly the sole reason to own a Judge

I would drain it, see what you’re actually working with & go from there.

I’ve rehabbed a couple of ponds, they were both far shallower than I expected & total rebuilds were required. Had I just dug out what I could with a hoe I would’ve wasted a lot of time & money & still been forced to drain & rebuild it properly anyway.

Buy once. Cry once.

I don't have any recent ones.

Here's one from last year when I flew over it.

That is all being brush hogged this Saturday.  It's a little smaller now that we've been in a drought.  On Google Earth you can change the years and it looks to be around .5 acres when it is filled.

This is how it looked a couple years ago on Google Earth (I own roughly all the brown area on the map to the tree lines)
