I'd probably go with 1 AR, 2 pistols of some sort.

If we're that hard up for firearms, then the pistols will be more useful.    If you're just broke, you can buy more rifles later.

Ar15 with 5.56, 6.5g and .22lr uppers
Mossberg 500 with 18.5" smoothbore and cantilever rifled barrels.
And instead of the g19 I already have, I'd take a Sign p320 with subcompact and large frames. In 9mm of course.

G42, with a Technaclip and kydex trigger cover. Throw a teeshirt on top. Thank me later.  My Technaclipped 42 hangs on my gym shorts. A similarly equipped 43 should hang on those board shorts with no issues if the drawstring is snug.

Easy!  Since I deer hunt, bird hunt, and plink. 300 WM bolt action - handles anything I hunt. Benelli 12 Gauge- turkeys, doves, and ducks. 10-22 - just because. But I don’t have to.

Glock 17
AR-15
Mossberg 590

The 590 would have a bird hunting barrel, a rifled slug barrel, and a short defense barrel.

AR would have a spare 22lr upper.

Glock would have a 22 conversion kit for practice.

Yup.

Though a 6.5 Grendel AR would be a consideration, taking into account caliber restrictions for hunting in some states.

Three? PFFFT.

1 = 12 ga shotgun (870)

2 = 12 Ga shotgun (870) and .22 bolt rifle (kimber 82)

3 = 12 ga shotgun (870), .22 bolt rifle (kimber 82) and 20 ga shotgun (benelli montefeltro)

No pistols or black rifles if had to only have 3. I'd want max usage/utility.

Actually, after thinking about this some more...

FAL with 18" barrel. I just can't warm up to the AR10's.
Mossberg 500 in 410.
Sig P320 with a sub compact and compact frame. In 9mm.

I haven't shot any of my .22's in a very long time and the Mossberg can handle whatever the .22 would have done.

SCAR 17 (I'd have to SBR it).
Glock 19
The Fix

Based on my current favorites. SCAR can absolutely be used as both a battle rifle and a carbine. Glock 19 for obvious reasons. The Fix to reach out and touch things with a little more accuracy than the SCAR.

12.5" Suppressed 5.56 Mini Recce AR (with a .22 conversion kit tucked away in its case )

I actually like these threads. I wasn't completely honest in my answers because I don't have a 12.5" upper yet...so I guess I need to upsize! I mostly have 10.X" uppers but if I had a choice between 10.5, 11.5, 12.5 or >12.5, I'd pick the 12.5.

with what I have?
223 SBR or pistol, depending on how the imaginary rules will play out. conversion bolt
Les Baer TRP
shield 9mm PC

seems like you could do a lot of the stuff I do with just those.

reasonable dream set up? reasonable because I'm not buying full auto any time soon
9mm STI 2011 tactical with a can. 22 conversion upper.
shield PC threaded barrel, though I have a glock 26 and it's growing on me, so maybe that? either way, all tuned up. something that fits in a pocket.
SBR AR 300BO with can, maybe honey badger

I would have a 16" and 18" 223 upper for competition, then a 4" 22 upper with can. and probably a 410 upper if I since I would feel naked without some kind of shotgun option.

Stuff I already own?

RRA/Sabre midlength, 16" 1/7 CL 5.56, with trijicon 1.25-4x

Remington M700 PSS in .308 with Leupold 4.5-14 (or maybe an M1903 Scout conversion. Probably the PSS but I'd have to think about it.)

Either my S&W M&P9 or my SIG P226/.40. The M&P may be objectively a better pistol, but I started my career with the SIG.

ETA: if this were a wish list, the AR would be about five inches shorter with an Aimpoint T-1 instead, and the PSS would be something SASS-ish but probably in 6.5CM.

If it was a survival situation and needed to live off the land or something it would be

Otherwise it would be

14.5 LW AR
CZ Scorpion

Hard choice. Of the stuff I own, the most practical are:

DD MK18 with a SiCo Specwar
Mossberg 590A1 (Magpul furniture)
G34 (mine is threaded with a SiCo Omega 9k)

If I were just picking cool, but less practical stuff from the collection:

Scar 17
PS90 SBR
B&T APC or TP9
