Once again for the 87th time, my dad used to take a 12ga shotgun shell decrimp it, empty it out, stick the wad back in and fill it with millet.

Boom. Gone.

I believe a #0 pill capsule shell fits .22 exactly. Make salt shotshells.

.410 shell with just a primer and rock salt maybe?

I've always wanted to find a h&r single shot in 357, bore the rifling out and make little shotshells from 357 brass. Kind of like a center-fire 9mm flobert garden gun.

Probably get your desired range with course salt or bird seed.

I made a thing a long time ago that connected a bicycle hand pump to a small pipe fitting "air tank" with a Schrader valve on one side and a ball valve on the other. A 6" pipe "nipple" on the other end of the ball valve acted as a barrel. I would make a wad and load those super powered firework snaps (roughly firecracker sized) and get some good distance out of them.

Something like this, with a sort of "cut shell" approach, or like a Glazer safety slug, only with tissue paper and ice melt salt could be worth looking into. You only get one shot though.

That shit stings bad. As a kid riding dirt bikes some crazy little old Chinese lady used to shoot at us for riding in the field next to her land.

This thread has my interest. I fucking hate wasps, and have some with a nest I can't locate.

Rumor has it this overpriced CO2 powered toy can deal with wasps.  YMMV.

ETA: I know you said rifle, but I took it you meant something capable of killing wasps, which the original Bug-A-Salt is not.  Not sure if you were aware of the pistola.

Didn’t we have a member who shot a nest with a 12g and his wife was pissed because the bird shot fucked ok the patio?

My Bug-A-Salt will stun/drop a wasp so I can step on it.  No need for another gun (blasphemer!).

"extended range"

Just tested the Crosman and the salt/patch works.

Next is the "wasp drinking in the pool" shot

OP, you can't mess with only one wasp. It has...backup.

If any one cares,I took apart my bug-a-salt and replaced the 2 power springs with stiffer ones which throws the salt a lot harder and farther. I don't remember the spring size, but I just measured it with a calipers and got one with thicker coils off amazon. It was about 50% too long so I did have to cut it down a bit. But it made the bug-a-salt infinitely much more lethal.  In its factory config it barely has enough power to stun a fly. Mine will knock wings and legs and heads off of flies now as well as kill them.

I also removed the very gay auto-resetting safety. No one needs a safety on a damn spring powered salt shooter.

Appears you can buy the cheaper Crosman alternative with a metal barrel and use the Bug-a-salt salt cylinders in it.

$50 cheaper, metal barrel, and not orange/yellow.

Need this for my colony of cicada killers.  They haven't attacked me yet, but evolution and all.

And, the cicadas are still making racket from dawn till after dusk.
