Charlotte and the Triangle have quit the south but where I live NC is as southern as it gets.

My South Carolina brethren seem to be harboring some kind of hateful grudge against the upstate. If all you've experienced of NC is Charlotte, Ashville or Raleigh, then I can see why you think we are yankees though.

I am a Native NC boy, the fracking influx of liberal snow birds , LGBTQ folks and and even Californicators has ruined the state. I have been living on the North Coast for last 10 years OP and love it.
As far as sweet tea goes seriously where does that ? even generate from. Of course if you are around Raleigh Chapel Hill, Durham, or Asheville all of the first sentence applies in spades.
Little Nugget, NC supplied more troops to the Confederate Armies than any other single state. So yes we qualify as the South

Of course they are. Lord knows fending off the hordes of Ohioans, Virginians, and South Carolinians looking to flee their wastelands must be a daunting task but it doesn't exclude them from membership.
