Think I did this before
But is We Were Soldiers the peak of multicultural liberalism? I've watched it half a dozen times, and the back half screamed libtard. Black guy gets shot, japanese guy gets napalmed, the most important. Maybe watch it again and see what was forced in. A very good movie, but of a specific time, when America was America, thanks booma politicians Overall, I think they did justice as best a hollywood outfit can do, BUT |
|
I enjoyed it and didn't get hung up on anything..
You should try it sometime. |
|
Well let's see.
SPC Jimmy Nakayama was killed by friendly napalm during the battle. And plenty of black, white, brown and yellow soldiers were killed in that battle. If'n you didn't know our military no longer has segregated units or anything |

I thought it was good, didn't care for the jump backs to the wives in the middle of intense combat scenes, kind of takes you out of the moment. But I never got liberalism out of it, also highly recommend the book and it's coverage of the other LZ.

so this is what it's like getting all of your knowledge from visual media... wild.... I hope you learn to read soon.

That’s a tragic story. I wonder why he surrendered his 2 LT commision to be an SPC in the regular Army? |

They did a great job of condensing many important details of the battle at LZ X-ray into a short movie. I didn't get "liberalism" from the movie. I think it's a movie every American should watch. |

The movie fairly closely followed the book written by the guy that was there so I'll defer to his experience.

I've watched that movie a hundred times and never ONCE drawn the conclusions you drew. The black guy that gets shot is then rescued by a white guy before they both get killed together...and the Asian guy who gets napalmed gets single-handedly carried to the MEDEVAC by *gasp* a white guy...the movie is about heroism, brotherhood regardless of color, and the unprecedented horrors of war. OP needs to drink less toilet duck.

View Quote You are right and wrong, it is a movie about heroism, which is the most important thing, but if you can't see the hidden race and "woke"(for the boomas and gen x in the back) stuff that laid the groundwork for where we are at.... So boiled down, you consider "white guy rescues minority" to be not pre 2010s liberalism? Because it seems like that was all over the place before they buried St. George |

The peak? Are you on crack?
Not black Little Mermaid, or all-female Ghostbusters, but We Were Soldiers is your "peak"? |

OP is starring his own epic tale:
“We Were ‘Tards once, and Drunk” He’s gonna get spanked. Soundly and Prolifically. |

The only thing that even vaguely smelled of cultural Marxist influence was the laundromat segregation dialog between dependents. Even that reflects the reality of the time.
I understand segregation and it’s effects were historical fact, but those specific lines of script seemed forced. Important or impactful events happened to Soldiers of various colors because, guess what, the Army was racially integrated at the time. OP is looking for rage bait where none exists. |

I've regretted a few posts I've made here when drinking, but absolutely NOTHING on this level.
