I want a hat like this. Could be a Homburg, could be a Churchill Homburg. Anyone know for sure? I have a black fedora that I wear for Lodge activities.

| That looks more like a Bowler or Derby hat but with a crease on top which isn't typical. A neighboring lodge has all their officers wear Bowlers during installation. I also have a Fedora now but I'm thinking of a Bowler for next year. |

It's a Homburg. Churchill wore Homburg's as did many during this period but the hat is still refered to as a Homburg. It has the center crease in the crown and the turned up short (around 2 to 2.5 inch) bound brim. Homburg's could and also given a bit of a front "pinch" and this like the sides of the brim being more creased or turned up is a matter of personal style and preference of the wearer. Bowler hats at the time were pretty much hats of servants and working class. Mathew Crawley in this picture from Downton Abby was the heir to the fictional Earl of Grantham title and thought he was brought up middle class he wore Homberg's and maybe a fedora or two in the series.
