From clips it kinda looks like a cringy "get off muh land" type of show, but all the boomers say its great
Thoughts? |

I have a system I use to pre-qualify my shows.
If my parents love it....then there's a 90% chance that I won't like it. My parents love it, so I made the safe bet and never watched it. |
|
I like it, but only for the horse drifting. Everything else is pointless.

Have trird to watch at least a dozen x. Random episodes while flipping channels. I just dont get it.
|
|
you either like it or you don't. You'll just have to watch it.

The first couple of seasons are great, but just like every great TV series, the writers seem to go all "woke" and off-kilter around season 3. I haven't seen the newest season because I don't want to pay for another streaming service I'm not ever gonna use.

I have yet to watch anything by Taylor Sheridan that wasn't entertaining. Though I refuse to watch Without Remorse.

Everything about it is a little over the top but I still enjoy watching it.
If you're the type that thinks everything has to be factual like it's a documentary or something then you probably won't enjoy it. |

We don't have TV so I checked out some clips on YouTube.
I can't wrap my head around a real life Libtard, anti gun douchebag playing a tough guy cowboy driving around in a big pickup truck on his ranch chasing people off with a model 94 after saying some tough guy shit. The one chicks tits look pretty good but she's batshit crazy and needs to STFU. |
|
it's not woke, so that makes it better than about 99% of stuff produced in past few years.
the scenery is great. it suffers from the gun-battle-every-episode syndrome the writing is good in parts but gets preachy at times (annoying even when you agree with the sentiment) i believe it's slow on purpose at times (e.g. horse drifting) |
|
You should watch a couple of episodes and make up your own mind rather than ask strangers that don't know you.
We like Yellowstone. |

Super cringey but beautifully filmed with enough stuff to keep interested but enough stupidity to be irritating.

After 87 people gushed over it, I tried to watch it.
Holy fuck. It's horrible and totally unbelievable in so many ways, it's hard to believe actual humans made this disaster. Some scenes even even combined shots from totally different areas. |
|
Yes. It's a modern western. Better then 80% of programming on the air.
Unfortunately is caused a run on lever action rifles. All of the tacticool youngsters suddenly decided the needed a dose of western coolness. |

It's fine. Don't expect it to be the PHONOMNAE that everyone made it out to be, but it has some aspects and nuances particular to it. You'll need to suspend your disbelief at times, and apparently if lots of people die and disappear, that's fine, nobody asks questions. And There's this one gully that you can just drive your GPS tagged truck to with your GPS tagged phone in your pocket, and toss bodies and gear and backpacks down and all kinds of shit with your fingerprints on, and it's OK, because no one will ever look down in that gully - ever, despite there being a pile of such down there the likes of which Jeffery Dahmer can't quite reach.
It's a captivating enough story with interesting enough characters in an appealing enough setting, that it's worth your time to watch. Biggest tragedy in the whole thing is the head injury transition Best Wife Ever All Time, into Pain In The Ass Wife Who can't stop talking about My People, that you start to wonder if a trip back to the gully isn't such a bad idea. |

Also, you can engage in a clandestine operation beautifully executed and put an altitude activated bomb in an airplane fuel tank, set to explode next flight. And if the plot activity ends up settled in another direction. Just never think about the bomb again, and it'll just sort of never come up again. Like, ever. The power of not thinking about it, just makes it go away.

What I like:
Amazing landscape In the later seasons you see some incredible horses. Yes horse drifting (correct term is a slide stop) and yes if you are into reining and cattle cutting they have some amazing talent shown. In general I also enjoy the characters etc. What I don’t like: Some repeated plot points In reality that is not even a fair complaint I love Stargate SG1 and they got captured and had to escape every other episode. |

Not a boomer but close in age. Watched about ten minutes of one episode one time. It's a fucking drama filled soap opera.
Never watched another second of it and have no desire. I can't stand watching shows like that. |
|
Just picture "Sons of Anarchy" but only with ranchers. Seriously it's no different if you think about it. Made for juvenile intelligence.

As a boomer that lives in Paradise Valley, I enjoy the characters but most of it is so beyond reality… he hatred for non-Montanans is real though.
