No doubt.

I guess that begs the question of “what was the mission” if they brought all of that but didn’t get a chance to use it.

Interrupted or “shit, just throw everything in the truck” planning?

Adults will handle this. Not Biden.

Would Hamas or Hezbollah try to find a "proportional response"?

If they had nukes, they would have used them by now.

They show no mercy and try their hardest to inflict pain and terror at all costs and go above and beyond.  Beheading babies, shooting them in their strollers.  Shooting grandmothers just sitting at a bus stop.

Meanwhile the IDF has the knock knock shot at buildings and sends texts to the enemy telling them "Hey we're going to level this building.  Please leave so we don't kill you"

Proportional... kiss my ass.

To on the local radio an Israeli woman called in. She said gun laws were changed and getting a gun was harder. You could have one gun and fifty rounds of ammo. Background check and mental evaluation then testing on gun handling.

On a side note, I work in a lab with customers in Israel. We got word most of them saying they was good.
One customer I email with gave confirmation about the dead children. He had seen it firsthand.

Israel should go scorched earth on Gaza. Rent a squadron of B52’s load with as much bombs then drop North to south until a smoking hole is all that is left.

Interesting.  Frau Merkel was a big supporter of the "two-state" solution, which kinda pissed the Israelis off.

The arms sales are probably one thing they can agree on.  Israel wants the weapons, Germany wants the money.

Repeated themes in this thread:

Israel is not going to "level" Gaza. It physically can't with conventional weapons. Gaza is a dense urban environment of 140 square miles. The militant infrastructure designed to withstand Israeli airstrikes has been developed for decades. Have the last 20 years not convinced you that airpower alone doesn't win wars? Israel could expend every munition it has in its inventory on Gaza and it wouldn't destroy Hamas.

Israel is not going to indiscriminately bomb Gaza or use a nuclear weapon. Israelis have been at this for 70 years. The name of the game is the Arab street. The existential threat to the Jewish homeland is not Hamas or Hezbollah. It is Iran and the Arab states and their publics. Arab (and Persian) regimes, politicians, and terrorist groups have been using Palestinians as a foil to redirect the anger of their own people for generations, creating an enormous potential for violence that persistently threatens both Israel and Arab governments. Israel has made great progress in normalizing relations with its neighbors over the last 20 years and defusing that bomb. The public relations outcome of a mass killing of Gazan civilians is a greater threat to the long-term survival of the state of Israel than Palestinian terrorism itself. That is Iran's intent with this operation, to stoke hate for Israel and destabilize Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon, Iraq, SA, Bahrain, UAE. So far the images coming out have repelled most normal people in the ME and around the world. Israel is going to do what it can to keep it that way while degrading Hamas as best they can. It has nothing to do with having the balls to "do the needful" or "taking the gloves off" or the silly domestic woke politics people here obsess over.

Ultimately destroying Hamas' capability to kill Israelis is going to mean men with rifles seizing and holding ground, just like every other fucking time. As soon as they let the pressure off the weapons and money will start flowing back in and the capability will be slowly rebuilt, unless and until the Iranian and Syrian regimes are gone - at minimum.

That said, acknowledging the solution will be difficult does not mean that you stop trying.  It does mean you spend a lot of effort trying to make it work.  Chartering ships.  Busses and aircraft. Funding.  Setting up temporary refugee camps, with screening.  Food, water, shelter.  Medical aid..  POL dumps.  Munitions supplies.  A million other things I'm forgetting, and that people like @elcope do expertly.

Really?  You're going to parse it that way?  All right, substitute US and Europe for World then reassess.

When you do, let me know what you think.  Again, this isn't an immediate thing. It's a 30-60 days out thing.

I've done a lot of counter-IED and other courses related with EOD, but I'm no expert. I just know what I've seen in Iraq and Afghanistan and been shown by them in training. There's some big ones out there.

Some of the pipe-hitters on the forum probably know waaaaaaaay more than I do. I did have to handle UXO stuff when I did 11C stuff, though.

Nothing more butt-puckering than handling UXOs on a mountain top.
