What do you guys figure, another month before Israel can wrap up the invasion and switch to the occuption/security phase?
IDF has been going out of their way to limit collateral damage at great cost in munitions, I wonder what the final financial cost of this military action will be at the end of the day? When our Congress debates about foreign aid I'm wondering whether they're carefully evaluating just how much Israel practically needs from the USA in terms of supplemental funding when they in already typically receive about $3 billion in aid yearly just from the USA. I'm sure Israel is requesting a very specific amount, but given the fiduciary duty to the U.S. tax payers I think it falls to Congress to do their homework and determine what is required to help Israel recover and maintain stability in the area after this is concluded. I wish Israel only the best, but I don't want this incident to be used by the insidious in our nation as an excuse to insanely enrich themselves by boosting the value value in companies like Raytheon. War profiteering is clearly an issue in the USA and we have to be careful not to let our passions blind us. The media bullshit is sooooo thick it's absurd though, this painting Israel as the "bad guy" in this conflict by western media would almost be hilarious if it didn't actually impact the opinions of idiots out in the world. The way I see it, Israel had ZERO choice here and had to conduct themselves exactly as they have and have conducted themselves in a reasonable fashion by any standard. I also think that so far Israel has executed a very logical campaign that appears to have clear goals that can be measured by actual metrics, something we in the West will hopefully learn from. |

One thing that I find odd are the protests in the USA and Europe, which are being done largley by people who are NOT Palestinian and by many who are from nations that have outright refused to help Palestinian refugees in any way whatsoever.
How ironic is it that in Egypt and Jordan you have entire countries of Arabs who steadfastly refuse to help Palestinian refugees, but in those nations I don't see a single protest in objection to that fact? |

Israel is going to have to invest in ground forces when this is all over. The idea that fancy sensors and automation can take the place of boots on the ground died on 7 Oct. That will not come cheap. |
