im starting to see after some research that it is being revived by the eclectic "mother earth would never harm us" hippie type.

i overlooked the fact that this is a simple instrument which usually means older; therefore the interest from the hippie "townsends"x100 types.

im requesting more of the Americana jews harp music, but post any you enjoy.

A lot of the new interest in old forms of music is coming from the "Traveler" kinds of people. Those that just kind of move around the country with no job. They play music in camps for entertainment and on the streets for money. So it kind of follows the same requirements as all that music did a long time ago.

Years ago, we were in Munich. We arrived late at night on a train. We needed food.

Someone recommended some Hoffbrauhas . It was a shopkeeper.

So we cruise up some stairs and the place is going nuts. Nobody wanted to speak English, French, or Italian. Only German.

We somehow manage to get food and beer. We are eating while the locals are going nuts at the tables singing and swaying. We didn't know these tunes.

Anyway, there was some kid, maybe early 20s in age.  Holy Shit, that kid was playing the spoons.

This was in May or June. These were locals. CSB.  We needed food. They took us in. That was cool.

Prost

"Jews harp"??  I've never seen or been told anything but "Juice harp", which I always assumed was related to the spittle that invariably became intermixed.

It is Jew's harp. Considered derogatory, now.

It just sounds like "juice harp" when said aloud.
