This is the 55 stage variable speed compressor type system. My inverter board has failed. I am exactly 10 days out of a 10Y warranty and Lennox is not covering it. $4100, probably over double the cost of the board. I called Lennox directly and they are not budging. In the 10 years I have had the following failures: 1. Bad crimp in a connector, wiring harness replacement, just months after install 2. Bad stepper motor and drive on the blower 3. Galvanic corrosion on the A-frame causing leak requiring replacement of A-frame, I had to pay for the freon 4. Inverter board I don't know what to do.  The board is being replaced right now. I am certainly not buying another Lennox. I am considering multiple mini-splits for the next go-round. Need advice. Thx. |

My system is 10 yrs old. Dual fuel heat pump/propane furnace. I’m planning to replace it in the next 5 years. My compressor is intermittently going into an over current condition. It is running well below max and then spikes, throwing an error. After the $4000 inverter board, they will be replacing the compressor and whatever the equivalent of an orifice tube is for $1250. I will limp it along, and have a portable loaner, until install on Monday. The system ran very low on freon at least 3 times while the A frame was leaking, which likely damaged the compressor. I was sort of expecting this. |
