We did the wire rail on our last deck when we refurbed/expanded (it was postage stamp size to start). Expensive, but excellent for minimizing view obstruction. It's also very, very strong, with turnbuckles that are easily adjusted to take up any stretch. Dogs thought they'd be able to push through/under. Nope, not happening. Would use again.

12x36 + 6x42 IIRC, I built this five or six years ago now.

I hate exterior maintenance, so I try really really hard to avoid furniture that we have to worry about protecting.

I agree, if the goal is to minimize obstruction of the view, the cables are almost unbeatable.

I’ve got a micro deck- tough to even see with the untrimmed hedges enveloping it.
Like a teddy bear eye, lost in the fur . . .

Mine both have a roof over them. IMO one without a roof is pretty pointless. Keeps the rain and sun off for you and the deck.

The almost daily rains and ravenous hoards of skeeters make decks totally useless here. We call our screened and covered lounging and grilling areas porches. Lanai's if you have the gay.

It's not finished yet. Landscaping has to be finished to the level we want before finishing the post covers.

This is our concrete patio we poured late last fall. Just got the retaining wall and hardscaping done. Working on the plants etc now.

Lord willing, we will start on the roof this fall or next year. Bidens economy trying to stifle us, so who knows.

New covered front porch with a ramp for my wife.  Was a summer long project.

Deck as purchased. - sorry for the dark image, but this was the best I could find.

Deck after patio install, moving the staircase location, new re-decking and railings.

Take a look at the security camera in the third photo. Just from a couple of the visual clues I'm guessing the interior architecture is pretty impressive.

I drove a screw into the siding and hang a 4' LED shoplight while grilling at night. It lights up the whole neighborhood.

I think for the final lighting plan I will incorporate a few of these

OP, our deck looked pretty similar to yours.  We thought about putting one of the Costco gazebo's on it, but ultimately tore it out and built a screened in porch instead.  Best part of the whole house.  We also put in a stamped concrete patio next to it, which is where the grill, firepit, and adirondack chairs live
