Just get the M5. compared With refurbs, you are stuck with whatever odd setups they have available, which can drive the cost up beyond a base machine. Frankly the base Macbook Air is plenty for 99% of people. Especially now that they come with 512GB RAM. I pre-ordered from apple direct because if you have an apple card, you get 3% cash back and 12 months 0% finance. I'll always use someone elses money that is also paying me 3%. I think bestbuy has a $40 gift card available. But most M3 and M4 machines are gone and dried up other than the expensive versions. |

I see that they also have M3s there at under $700, so I'm going to wait until after the 11th and see if the M4 refurbs drop in price a bit more. If I miss out, it can wait until I feel like spending $1300 for a 15" air. |

| Bit the bullet and got a certified refurbished M4 15" air with the 512gig drive. Paid the $8 shipping to get it today, thinking that it was shipping from a store in-state. Nope, ordered just before 2pm yesterday, it was sitting at my front door at 940 this morning. Going through setup right now. |
