I said, "a little more range and punch, right?" He looked at me and said, "Damned straight!" Sounded like an SME endorsement to me. The fact that an empty PKM weighs less than an empty 249 also has endeared it to me. Dead simple mechanically, as it's basically an upside down AK, as well. |

I've only been able to shoot: m16, sten, Mac, and mp5.
Of those, m16 was the most enjoyable. Sten has the OG/ cool history. Dream MG would be a ww2 belt fed or something like a P90/ PDW. |

While not modern by any means.. a 1917A1 water cooled is a real machine. It takes 7 x 250 round belts of 30-06 just to start boiling the water

Quoted: I finally shot one, it's been on my bucket list for years. Both exhilarating and sobering, thinking about being on the other end. Our troops had some serious balls. View Quote No sh*t. To hear that thing go "zippppppppppp!" like a zipper was frightening. Suggested reading is Battle Hardened. It talks about a company commander whose mission was to capture a bunker fortified woodline. Plenty of bunkers and normally the cost would be very high. Along with some tanks from the division's tank battalion, he completely dominated the enemy line, pierced it and rolled it up with a flanking attack. Minimal casualties. They used up so much ammunition that the division G-4 came by to figure out what was going on that so much ammo was being used in one day by one battalion (the other two companies assisted with support fire to prevent the Germans from responding). |

MAG58/M240. Built like a tank. Minimal issues for a belt fed. Compared to the sheet metal receiver guns such as the M249, Mk48, M60, etc., it will just keep chugging along. The updated versions are even mo' betta'.

My MP5 (HK94 converted to MP5 specs by TSC using a registered Fleming sear) is far and away my favorite MG. I would NEVER sell that gun. My heirs will literally have to pry it from my cold dead hands.
Close second is my Group/Vector full-size UZI. A lot of people don’t like the UZI but I love it. I have a Gemtech “Mossad” suppressor for it and the combo is breathtaking. Beyond that, I have some others including an M16A2, M1919 belt-fed and a Thompson 1921AC. I enjoy owning them but don’t enjoy shooting them much anymore (for various reasons). Frankly, once I scratched the full-auto itch, I realized that beyond the cool factor, they don’t do that much for me that other, title-1 guns, don’t do. I’d never sell the MP5 or the UZI but the others will help fund my retirement should I find myself short. |

My favorite are my buddy's - I don't have to pay for 'em, I don't have to clean 'em, and he even provides ammo. All I gotta do is load mags and pull triggers.

I'd have to say PKM based on my experience humping the SAW and 240, but I know the non disintegrating links would piss me off. Make it feed M80 ball from M13 links and then I'd be a happy sumbitch. The Poles might have gotten it right with the UKP.

Quoted: It's very close between the Swedish K and the M3 Grease Gun, but I love the Swedish K. Crew served, M2 was favorite to shoot. https://i0.wp.com/cms.sofrep.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Swedish_K45_SMG_5555.jpg?fit=1600%2C786&ssl=1&w=800 View Quote I was issued the Danish variant of the Swedish K. It was primitive, but awesome! |

Out of the ones that I've been around...
MP5-SD With somebody else's pocketbook... That backpack mounted mini gun that Gronk shot a couple years ago looked AWESOME. Grail guns I want to shoot.. MP7 I originally remembered Bond having one on the roof in Mexico City in the opening of Spectre, but it looks like that was actually a Glock in a KPOS chassis... (Ana de Armas should've had waaayyy more time in No Time To Die! ) |
