Took in a Belgian about 2 years ago…took a few months but found her place with an older GSD and a Husky, dumped her kennel she was housed in for most of her puppy year. Anyway, at around the July 4 time, fireworks going off as usual, and last year she didn’t seem to have a problem… the other two go in the garage, or an interior bathroom, closet,sometimes under a bed. I took the Belgian out in the yard, and it seems she’s was more bothered by the heavy smell, vs the noise. She goes up into the master bedroom and gets under the bed. But now, she’s making it a nightly habit of getting under there. (All the dogs have run of the house and sleep in the hallway, on the floor, on beds, etc. But under the master bedroom bed was the usual place for the Husky to sleep.) Now the Husky is displaced, she won’t go under there if the Malinois is there. But she’ll look at me like what-the-fuck that’s my favorite sleeping spot. It’s strange as when I move, she’s sticking her head out to look up at me, arm or leg goes over, it’s the immediate shock of a wet nose, if I get up, she’s attached to me and so on. When I’m gone, she’s the same, very vigilant with the wife. So… do I try to restore the pecking order of sleeping spots, or just let things be? |

Let dogs be dogs and work it out themselves. And put up a couple crates in the BR and cover them up with something and remove the doors or block them open. let them work out who's is who's and go from there. When I had multiple dogs they LOVED their own covered crates, it was their home at home and they knew exactly which one was theirs. |
