Mexican food includes things called "emparedados" which look for all the world what most of us would refer to as sandwiches: Meats, cheeses, and/or vegetable materials served between pieces of bread.
The word "pared" means wall, so an emparedado is food that is walled in between two (or more) pieces of bread. Quoted: If that's true, all Mexican food is a fuckin' sandwich, because all FIFY. There is a whole lot more to Mexican food than tacos and burritos. I take it your exposure to Mexican cuisine has been very limited. |

Per the agreement, the only restaurants allowed at this facility were ones that didn't serve alcohol, prohibited outdoor seating and only sold "made-to-order or subway style sandwiches." This measure was designed to keep national fast food chains such as such as McDonalds out of the shopping center. However, the court ruled in Quintana's favor on Monday on the grounds that the proposed Famous Taco restaurant fit the definition outlined in the original "Written Commitment." I'm ok with this. At least tacos are not subject to a Sammich tax like they are in New York Interestingly, New York sparked major controversy in culinary circles after listing burritos alongside hoagies, hot dogs, and gyros as "sandwiches" that are subject to sales tax. |
