Anyone remember the odd marking campaign that was the nail in the coffin for RAX in the late 80's or early 90's ? "Mr. D" was like your stuffy creepy uncle trying to sell you cheap bad food. Love the slogan " You can eat here" .  What marketing genus thought this up ? The company went under shortly after.

Wow, I had completely forgotten about that chain.

ETA: Yeah, that's a cringe-worthy ad.  Rule 1 of marketing: try not to have your product mascot remind people of John Wayne Gacy.

I don't recall the commercial, but we had one here and I remember it as kind of an Arby's with an awesome salad bar... we liked it.

I seem to remember that had a huge menu selection from burgers, to chicken, to pasta, etc.

There was one in Boyertown PA when I was little I remember it was my favorite place. Nothing specific, but I still devoir shaved roast beef to this day.
