The bill takes aim at gun makers who don't put in safeguards to prevent their hand guns from being converted by pistol converters or Glock switches. Myrie's bill doesn't target the switches themselves. His bill instead says "any person, dealer, firm, partnership, or corporation" that sells, transports, or ships "as merchandise a convertible pistol" would be committing a felony, according to the Journal. I kinda called this in a bunch of switch threads. Glocks will be labeled as "readily convertible" by the ATF eventually. They'll be forced to change their slide design. Similar to the way the open bolt Macs and Tecs got changed to closed bolt.

I’d imagine any semi-auto gun could be converted to fire in a fully automatic fashion given enough time and effort.
