Ruger is attempting to fill the void left by the discontinuation of their SR-762 rifle with the introduction of their new SFAR or Small-Frame Autoloading Rifle. This new .308 AR-pattern rifle is a heavy-hitting option that manages to fit into similar dimensions as conventional AR-556 rifles as well as bringing the total weight of the entire package down to just 6.8 lbs for the 16? version.

I like it. If they come up with an 18" version, I might even be convinced to swap my Aero M5 for one.

I have a Nightforce NXS 5-15 looking for a home.

That would do.

Fuck Ruger, ATF lovers

Plenty of pro-2A companies making 308 ARs at the same price point with better features

Has it been recalled yet?

I guess his thread didn’t come up since I searched for the actual name of the newly introduced product

The big question is if it uses 5.56 rails.

I might get one if it did. If not the Rogue is better still.

Not sure why anyone messes with old large frame designs at this point. Just wish there was some standardization like OOF did at a lower cost.

Didn’t DPMS G2 do this already?

First the give us a budget-friendly MP7 in 5.7x28mm, and now they give us a budget-friendly PoF Revolution DI?

Ruger is upping their game and I like it.

this idea is becoming nearly ubiquitous.

Behold the 2017 Inudstry Choice Awards rifle of the year (a short AR platform 7.62 that uses 5.56 parts)

How are the bolts holding up in these rifles?

I recall bolts breaking with regularity in 7.62x39, albeit they essentially used a 5.56 bolt and removed material to fit the x39. I'm ASSuming they properly designed x51 bolt to avoid this.

I just want a standard small frame AR10 that takes AR-15 rails and everything else except for the receivers.

Great, another AR.  I'm not invested in 308, but I'd only be interested in M1A/PTR at this point.
