I’m thinking of getting a Blackstone 22” Adventure model which folds up and is portable for camping and such. The Adventure version is the latest, “new for 2025” model for the 22” camping/portable style griddle. I’ve done much research of reviews for this size and style Blackstone griddle and they typically pull a 4+ star rating, but…….. I always pay particular attention to the 1 and 2 star ratings. I have noted that most identified problems are related to crappy fabrication and/or assembly. Holes don’t line up, parts are damage or don’t fit properly, welds that break, components are warped (particularly the griddle), etc.. I’ve decided that while this style griddle carry’s a respectable review rating and most buyers are happy with the product, there are enough review results that suggest not all are happy campers with the product. Anybody here experienced these problems with their Blackstone griddles, specifically the 22” camping style model? |

Rendering some onions down. 1. They say it helps the seasoning of the grill. 2. We are doing smash burgers, so grilled onions go better. Attached File Bacon will be on soon, toast the buns then the burgers... Also plan on frying up some FF and maybe a few mozzarella sticks.... Bacon going down... Attached File |

Well, I never had any issues until one night my cousin was running it and could not get any decent heat. I thought WTH, and changed tanks, he tried again same issue. I did notice that he started lighting right to left, I looked in instructions & it said left to right like I always did... we tried it and bang, right back into operation. Not sure what is in play, but I stick with left to right and the issue never reoccurred. |

I've had mine for a while and love it. One of my favorite dishes on it is steak fajitas. Marinate flank, skirt or flap steak in lime, orange juice and spices for ~an hour. Cook to medium rare, rest. Slice against the grain. Of course, smashburgers. I've used it for starting french onion soup. You can caramelize so many onions on it. I've made roux for gumbo on it... same thing, it's crazy efficient for making a lot of roux. Easy mode for blackening fish. I tried the deep frying thing on it once, but seemed extremely inefficient and wouldn't do it again. Overall, I love the thing. Also, great backyard, OP! |

Deep frying worked, but like you say, not real efficient The house and yard are works in progress. Like every home.... I should have everything the way I like it, roughly 15 years after I die.

| Congrats! I got our 36"er on Amazon a couple years ago real cheap when they were changing the look of the knobs or something superficial. It was $199 shipped, then it got banged up in transit, so they refunded me $100. Followed the seasoning directions to the letter, and even after over two years it's still doing good. Just loaded the whole surface up with steak, peppers, and onions a couple days ago for enough fajita fixins to keep us fed all weekend. |

Good for Breakfast too... Bacon and soon eggs Attached File Attached File |

Anybody here experienced these problems with their Blackstone griddles, specifically the 22” camping style model? I have the 24" model. Stand alone, no stand for it. You can buy a stand, I just haven't. Took it to fish camp this past week, we did steaks and grilled spuds on it, we did a burger dinner on it, bacon, hasbrowns, and scrambled eggs breakfast, and a breakfast burrito breakfast on it. Only trouble we had was the wind was gusting pretty good one morning and it was hard to get the griddle hot. We had to take the top off of a cooler and make a wind break. |

I prefer to cook the skirt whole to medium rare, then slice. Tell me about the crinkle fries above. Did you deep fry in a dish, or spread grease and fry directly on the griddle? They look great. Attached File Attached File |

I called their customer service and asked about that as well as other reported fabrication and assembly issues. They danced around the warping issue by saying “it happens”, but implied that after using it 15 or so times the griddle will “relax” and assume a flat surface. As for the fabrication and assembly issues, they assured me their warranty program would make things right. I’m hoping not to have to deal with that bs. Having said all that I just ordered the new 22” Adventure Ready Griddle model which was advertised as “new for 2025”. I’m hoping this model fixes all the reported problems, at least the serious ones. If not, I’ll challenge the warranty process and hope they come thru. |

Hot griddle Dry potatoes Avacado oil I've never been successful at them either. So - Hot Griddle Avocado Oil on griddle Then dry potatoes on avocado oil. Wait until crispy on bottom, then turn onto new oil or the existing oil? |
