Brilliant.
https://www.newsmax.com/politics/natural-gas-new-york-gas-stoves/2023/04/28/id/1117959/ Natural gas may become a fuel of the past — at least in New York. And more than gas stoves will be discontinued, with New York Democrat Gov. Kathy Hochul agreeing to a deal with Democratic lawmakers that would bar natural gas statewide. The preliminary deal, the New York Post reported, would mandate all new buildings under seven stories to be fully electric by 2026. Larger structures would be affected in 2029, and it's part of a wider $229 billion spending plan. "Everyone knows we've seen the effects of climate change, the storms, the hurricanes coming to New York, record snow amounts," Hochul told reporters Thursday. "Our budget prioritizes nation-leading climate action that meets this moment with ambition and the commitment it demands." |

Of course they need to ensure that no power is imported into the state.

they building some nuke plants I don't know about?
In other news, these politicians are some dumb asses. |
|
They will just buy electric made by NG from PA and NJ.
Idiots. |
|
It's idiocracy. Just like an all electric military by 2030, or planting 1 billion trees.
|

View Quote Maybe they're just the new type of folk that know how to maximize their profits within this wonderful new system we have. Oh well, I'm gonna go take a walk in the woods with the dog, better entertainment than the news. Maybe I'll go piss on a tree. Brew up a cup of coffee. Watch the dog eat some moose poop. |

"In January, fossil fuels made up close to 43% of the 10,014-megawatt hours produced in New York state, with 6% coming from renewable sources, according to data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration."
The article, which may not be accurate, suggests that it is for new structures. If existing structures use natural gas then natural gas will be sold and used forever. Thus it is not a true "ban" as the title suggests. |

If they were working within for China/Russia to destroy America and world freedom so that they can be the supreme world powers.
Would they be acting any different? |
|
Sometimes I scratch my head and wonder are they really this insane and do they really have the power to ban one of the major ways people heat and cook with, even if only in targeted structures.

Ironic that NYC receives it's electrical power 90% from natural gas. But hey its all about saving the planet.
Save the planet let NYC go without power. |

Enviro-taliban religious nutters.
Arfcom Kool Kids were clutching their pearls over someone saying Merry Christmas, meanwhile the democrats were erecting a full-blown theocracy based on environmentalism and social justice. |

View Quote Three times in my life there has been talk about another power line near my house including one where they were laying out for new tower bases. If these loons in Albany keep this up I have no doubt I will be facing a new tower before I die. |

Do it I dare you! If the state bans natural gas that means increased supply for everyone else and prices should be lower.

Hochul is acting as a dictator. Stop liking what she doesn't like.

Ayn Rand wrote a book about this way back when.
It ends with the lights going out. |

NY got rid of nutty Cuomo and got even nuttier crazy eyes bitch.
Oh well, they voted for her! |
|
Now when they get winter storms that take down power lines, they can all freeze to death.

Building Back Better by forcing transition to total electric.
Easier to regulate (control) usage. Eventually: do as we say & get energy credits, oppose us & get throttled. |

The climate changes. Nothing will stop it. At one point New York was under a couple miles of ice.

So... so that we are bitching about something on a factual basis... are they actually just banning the FUTURE construction using natural gas..
or are they actually going to retroactively ban all use of natural gas everywhere? Because those are two things. Both suck and are stupid, for sure, but they are different things. |
