I have to wonder how many progressives who otherwise wouldn't buy Sam Adams will now go out and buy Sam Adams beer. Political pandering never seems to pay off, as far as I know.

Yep, it should be named RBG Flat beer, flat meaning the brain activity.

OK, so the odd part for me is that a very conservative family member of mine gave me a 5 pack of Samuel Adams they bought "because the liberals are being mean to them" last summer.

https://www.bostonglobe.com/business/2018/08/16/sam-adams-latest-brand-with-trump-problem/UgRukJjUIjXJKIIpv8qepM/story.html

ETA: it was a 5-pack because they tried one, and it wasn't watery enough for their Bud Light palate to enjoy.

I have a clone recipe for their winter lager I have brewed before.
Its excellent.

Good thing because I'll never buy another SA product.

The bouquet is reminiscent of moth balls, Ben gay and cat piss.

I dont know why a company would chose to make a political statement like that and knowingly piss off so many people? I have been enjoying the Sam 1776 brew, but I will find another.

@Wumbo

This is the one I have used:
Winter Lager

ETA*... I have also seen some very easy extract kits that have all the clones. I know I have seen this one. It's from a place out of Texas. I will dig around and see if I can find it.

Got it!

Not very far from me. Great products named after a straight in Wisconsin at the tip of Door County known for it's horrible conditions for shipping on the Great Lakes.

My vote is for an over fermented, outdated, sour lambic w/ no discernable carbonation.  They should name it Flat-liner.
